Privacy
We keep account information to provide your downloads and authorize Session Eye. Optional account-linked analytics and plugin reporting are your choice. We also keep anonymous website totals with an opt-out. We never upload your recordings, webcam or screen images, private files, DAW projects or audio, or production content.
Hunna I’m Home, LLC, doing business as HOME Instruments, is responsible for this information. Our address is 418 Broadway Street N, Albany, NY 12207, United States. For privacy requests or support, email support@homeinstruments.com.
Accounts and essential operation
We use your name, email, password hash, age/Terms acknowledgement, downloads you can access, and account-security events to provide and protect your account. Transactional email helps you secure your account, reset your password, and authorize an installation. We keep send-acceptance, failure and bounce status; acceptance by a mail server is not proof of inbox delivery. Emails contain no open tracking or advertising.
Session Eye uses random installation credentials, an authorization receipt, authorization status, and the time of the latest successful check. Initial authorization needs internet access; authorized use has no offline expiry. Online checks normally happen at startup and every 15 minutes while loaded, with retries after connection failures. This essential processing does not depend on optional reporting. Your IP address is necessarily handled to make a network connection and protect the service.
Where a legal basis is required, providing accounts, downloads and authorization is necessary to perform our agreement with you. Proportionate security and abuse prevention serve our legitimate interests in protecting customers and the service. We use consent for detailed website analytics and plugin reporting. Limited, immediately aggregated website statistics serve our legitimate interest in improving our own website; we provide an easy objection mechanism. Essential cookies provide sessions, security and your privacy choice. We do not use advertising trackers or sell or share information for targeted advertising.
Website statistics and your choices
Anonymous totals: By default, and with Essential only, we count ordinary website requests on our server to improve the website. We immediately combine them into daily totals for known public pages, broad referral-source categories, browser/operating-system/device categories, direct Learn-article referrals to Session Eye, server processing time, download stages and errors. Unknown error URLs are grouped rather than saved. We exclude recognized bots and prefetches, but these are request counts, not unique visitors.
This separate counter database contains only dates, fixed categories, approved public page paths and numerical totals. It has no visitor or request IDs, account links, IP addresses, raw user agents, query strings, arbitrary fragments, precise locations or individual histories. Browser, device and source categories are kept as separate totals, not combined profiles. No analytics cookie, browser storage or additional tracking request is needed for these server counts. We do not use them for advertising, link them to individual analytics, or share them with advertising partners. Totals are retained for up to 16 months.
Your control: Choose Turn off all statistics in the popup or open Analytics choices in the footer or My Account at any time. These preferences apply to the current browser, not automatically to every device on your account. This stops future anonymous counts as well as detailed analytics and erases history linked to the current analytics browser ID. A necessary preference cookie remembers this choice for up to 180 days. Existing anonymous totals cannot be traced back to you or individually removed. We also exclude requests carrying Global Privacy Control. The older Do Not Track signal does not automatically change these settings or dismiss the popup; choose your website preferences using Analytics choices. Necessary account/security processing and ordinary hosting logs are separate and continue.
Optional detailed analytics
Detailed visitor analytics stays off until you choose Allow analytics. It is separate from the plugin’s reporting choices. We measure the public pages you view, active reading time, scroll depth, links you follow, product-demo playback, guide-search interactions and filter use. We record search result counts, not search text. We also measure successful account creation, sign-in and authorized download starts; a download start does not show whether an installation completed.
With your choice, random first-party browser and visit IDs connect your activity across HOME pages. A visit ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. When you sign in, activity can be associated with your existing HOME account; an anonymous visitor is not identified by name. We record broad browser, operating-system and device categories, referring domains and selected campaign tags. Only known public navigation-section fragments are retained. We exclude other fragments and arbitrary query strings, passwords, form contents, precise location, screen recordings and browser fingerprinting. We do not store raw IP addresses in the analytics database. Short-lived keyed hashes of connection IPs protect the collection endpoint from abuse.
Only authorized HOME administrators can view this information, including the journey from a Learn article to Session Eye. It remains on our hosting infrastructure and is not sent to Google Analytics or an advertising network. Separately imported Google Search Console reports contain aggregate page impressions and clicks, not the identity of people viewing search results.
Use Analytics choices in My Account or any page footer to change your choice. Essential only stops detailed collection and erases the retained history linked to that browser ID; it keeps the anonymous server totals described above enabled. Global Privacy Control disables optional analytics. Do Not Track alone neither grants nor withdraws consent: detailed analytics still requires your explicit Allow analytics choice. There is no replay of activity from before consent. Clearing cookies or using another browser creates a separate choice and, if allowed, a different identifier.
Detailed website activity is retained for up to 90 days. The browser-ID cookie lasts up to 90 days, the preference cookie up to 180 days, and the visit cookie up to 30 minutes. Inactive visitor records expire after 90 days. Aggregate Search Console snapshots may be kept for up to 16 months. Account data exports include account-linked website analytics. Account deletion removes linked analytics; contact support for other access or deletion requests.
Optional reporting
Reporting remains off until you confirm a choice. After activation, you can select Share both or Choose separately. In the separate choices, both switches are initially selected; turn off either category before pressing Continue, or turn both off to continue without reporting. Sharing is linked to your account and installation so we can understand reliability and help with support. Refusing does not limit an authorized plugin. Change your choices in Settings at any time.
- Usage: reported time while at least one plugin instance is loaded, successful save count, recent presence, timezone, latest IP address, OS version, architecture, broad RAM capacity, and plugin/build version. We do not use external IP geolocation. Presence becomes stale after six minutes without a heartbeat.
- Diagnostics: fixed operation/error codes, component/build, sanitized stack-frame module offsets, DAW name/version, plugin format, audio sample rate/buffer size, and GPU model/driver version. This excludes memory dumps, arbitrary logs, file paths, hardware serial numbers and inventories of other plugins.
- Convenience: you may add an installation nickname yourself. We do not automatically upload your computer’s name.
We collect no activity from before your choice and do not replay it later. Withdrawal stops collection, clears pending local uploads, and removes the corresponding optional account-linked data after your next successful connection. Expanded account-linked reporting requires a fresh choice. A local rolling recording buffer is part of the plugin’s function and stays on your computer; it is not reporting.
Who handles it
Only authorized HOME administrators access account and support information. Our hosting and email providers process it to operate the website, database and transactional mail, including necessary hosting logs. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect rights and security. We do not send new account or download information to Discord or automatically turn historical download contacts into accounts.
Our service is operated in the United States. Information sent to it may be processed outside your country. Where transfer safeguards are legally required, they must be in place with the relevant providers. Contact us for provider and transfer details.
How long we keep it
- Account information and entitlements: while your account is active.
- Latest consenting user’s IP: encrypted for up to seven days.
- Detailed reports, events and transactional email status: up to 90 days. Undelivered email content expires after 24 hours.
- Reported cumulative totals: while the account and relevant consent remain active.
- Managed backups: up to 30 days. Deletion records must be applied before restoring service from a backup.
We minimize hosting/security logs and historical download records under retention maintenance. Providers may separately retain necessary security or legal records. We encrypt names, emails and retained IPs, hash passwords and validation credentials, and restrict administrative access. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your control
My Account lets you access and correct your name, change or recover your password, manage installations, export account data, and delete your account. We confirm mailbox ownership before sensitive management and require your password for export, revocation and deletion. Contact support to correct an email address or exercise other rights, including access, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawing consent where applicable. We may need to verify your identity. You may complain to your local data-protection authority.
Deletion immediately ends server account sessions, downloads, codes and installation access. Offline installations learn of revocation at their next successful check. Local recordings are not deleted. We remove linked personal information and reports, retaining minimal unlinked installation revocation records to prevent reactivation. Deletion records are applied to backups before restoration.
Age and updates
Accounts are for people aged 16 or older. If someone younger supplied information, please contact us so we can remove it. We will explain material changes to this policy. You do not need to repeatedly accept unchanged policies to use the plugin.
